2021 Through the lens of Dirk Geuns
Also for me 2021 was another strange year, at the beginning of the year everyone was looking forward to the summer and was expecting that it should be normal by then. But Covid was still the main reason that lot of exercises and airshows decided to be cancelled. Luckily not everything was cancelled and I had some nice opportunities and saw some nice planes through my lens. I made my selection from my backyard, Kleine-Brogel Airbase and my tour through Switzerland that I made in September after a holiday in Italy.
This first picture is made in the backyard of my house, this Belgian Air Force F-16AM is nicely banking for landing on runway 23R of Kleine-Brogel Airbase.
This North American AT-6D Texan from Stijn De Jaegere Aerobatics made a nice flyby at Kleine-Brogel after his demo at the Sanicole Airshow.
HB-HWC / E.27-03 / 10241 Pilatus PC-21 was seen at the Pilatus Factory in Stans-Buochs. This PC-21 was at that time still flying with the Swiss civil serial number, it was one of three PC-21 that were used to train the Spanish Air Force pilots.
Another Belgian Air Force F-16AM nicely banking after touch and go on runway 05 of Kleine-Brogel Airbase.
This Austrian Air Force EF-2000 leaving Kleine-Brogel in style after a nice weekend stay for the Sanicole Airshow and XTM Tigermeet.
This Swiss Air Force F-18 Hornet is departing from Meiringen Airbase in beautifull weather for another training mission in the morning.
Another backyard picture, this time from the United States Air Force C-17 banking slowly after takeoff from Kleine-Brogel Airbase on a sunny day.
Beside the production of the PC-21, Pilatus is building in full force the PC-24 for the civil and military market, when visiting Stans-Buochs airfield I saw this Qatar Emiri Air Force QA 397 PC-24 on the apron of the Pilatus factory.
Also pictured in Kleine-Brogel during a flyby is this HAWKER HUNTER F.6A/‘N-294‘/G-KAXF.
As last picture I want to show another Spanish Air Force PC-21 taking off from Stans-Buochs airfield to fly another mission for training the Spanish pilots.
